MLB Rookie of the Year Odds 2024: Mason Miller the Favorite in AL Following Confusion
Two big offseason pitching additions headline our oddsboard as we look at the 2024 MLB Rookie of the Year odds from our best MLB betting sites.
The most interesting story surrounding the 2024 MLB Rookie of the Year odds is Mason Miller's eligibility to win the award in the American League. It's appears official now - despite what Baseball Reference would have you believe - that Miller is an eligible rookie in 2024. He's now the favorite at three of our best sports betting sites.
The National League race is dominated by two offseason additions by World Series odds contenders.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto's move to the Los Angeles Dodgers made more headlines, but it's Chicago Cubs left-hander Shota Imanaga who's thus far stealing the show, and he serves as the favorite to win NL Rookie of the Year. Both pitchers are also among the favorites by the MLB Cy Young odds.
Who will emerge as the two most valuable rookies in 2024? We break down the MLB Rookie of the Year odds from our best sports betting apps.

AL Rookie of the Year odds analysis
May 17, 2024: We solved the case of Miller's Rookie of the Year eligibility, and he serves as the favorite at three of our best sportsbooks. DraftKings is still yet to even list him.
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser is still the favorite at two of them, though he's slowed down considerably following a scorching-hot start.
The biggest mover over the last month is Boston Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu, who was as long as +12500 on April 24 but now is trading at around +700.
Wyatt Langford remains among the contenders despite being on the injured list, and baseball's No. 1 prospect, Jackson Holliday, is nowhere to be seen as he's back in the minors.

NL Rookie of the Year odds analysis
May 17, 2024: The biggest story in the NL Rookie of the Year picture is that Pittsburgh Pirates top prospect Paul Skenes made his major-league debut, and he's set for his second start on Friday.
Skenes wasn't exactly spectacular, allowing six hits and three earned runs over four innings, but he certainly didn't look overmatched, either. The big right-hander racked up seven punchouts, and his season-long projections are quite appealing.
Meanwhile, Yamamoto was the runaway favorite in this market for nearly a month, but he's now sharing that status at our sites with the best sportsbook promos.
Both Yamamoto and Imanaga have been outstanding this season, with the latter owning a truly absurd 0.96 ERA through eight starts.
Chicago Cubs infielder Michael Busch has slipped a bit following a scorching-hot stretch, and he's now the fifth-biggest favorite.
Once the favorite in this market, Jackson Chourio's odds have lengthened significantly due to his inconsistent play.
One of the biggest movers since Opening Day is Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jared Jones, who's been phenomenal through eight starts. He's struck out 63 through 53 innings, giving up only 41 hits and seven walks. He's as long as +700 now.

MLB Rookie of the Year odds explained
One of the benefits of betting on the MLB Rookies of the Year - as is the case with most player award futures markets - is that the odds on every option are relatively long to start the season. Therefore, by betting on Rookie of the Year, you can make your money go further by placing a smaller wager and winning more than you would with most daily markets.
The odds will shift throughout the season as players separate themselves with their performances. It's just as important to track the progression of the rookies as it is to the odds themselves.
